About Kirsty Doig
Accredited Practising Dietitian
Kirsty has always chosen to work with children and families prior to, and after graduating as a Dietitian. She chooses to work in this space as she knows working intimately with families to be rewarding, fulfilling and grounding.
Kirsty understands that eating and feeding is complex, with lots of factors at play. She draws on her knowledge and skills to understand with parents the reasons why challenges may exist.
Understanding and giving empathy to concerns and worries of parents regarding their child’s eating is one of Kirsty’s top priorities. She wants parents to feel heard, understood and to receive the tailored support they need.
Kirsty understands that every child and family’s story is unique, as is the support needed from a Dietitian. Through unlocking each child’s potential, progress can be seen. Feeding is a relationship, and Kirsty keeps the needs of both the child and the parent in mind.
Kirsty aims to support parents to feel confident in their feeding role. Parents are, after all, the experts on their children!
She continues to professionally develop in order to support families with simple to complex feeding difficulties. Kirsty has completed training in Responsive Feeding Therapy and Division of Responsibility in Feeding by Ellyn Satter. She has a special interest in working with neurodiverse children and continues to gain knowledge and experience in this area.
In her spare time, you can find her spending time with friends and family, usually over yummy food! She also enjoys getting outdoors in the sun, surf and sand.
